Here at Sydney Nephrology, we analyse the function of the kidney and take actions to prevent and treat disease, preserving kidney health through diet, medication and other renal therapies. As part of our comprehensive service to look after your health, we will also care for systemic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and obesity, which are all closely related to kidney disease. We maintain a strong focus at your appointment on the prevention and early detection of the many complications that can arise as a consequence of kidney disease, such as heart disease, anaemia, electrolyte disturbances, acid-base disturbances, and renal osteodystrophy (to name a few). We will work closely with you and your local GP to provide you with the best care possible.

NEPHROLOGY​ 

Sydney Nephrology offers a specialist medical practice that focuses on the preservation of kidney health and treatment of diseases that affect the kidneys. It is a speciality of internal medicine, which includes the following areas of interest.

  • Specialised management of chronic kidney disease to delay disease progression and prevent common complications such as cardiovascular disease

Dr Rahul Sud

Dr Rahul Sud is a medical specialist in kidney health and kidney disease dedicated to providing excellence in Nephrology. 'Rahul has over 10 years’ experience practising medicine. He is fellowship-trained and board-certified. He completed his undergraduate medical degree through UNSW, and medical training across Westmead, Concord, RPA and Liverpool Hospitals

Immediately after completing fellowship training, he was handpicked to commence work as a consultant staff specialist at Liverpool Hospital. He was then closely involved in the establishment of the General Medicine department at Liverpool Hospital, wherein he continues to work as a consultant staff specialist.

Dr Rahul Sud is dedicated to improving care through research efforts in areas of dialysis, transplantation, and obstetric nephrology. Currently, his research deals with preventative treatments for COVID-19.
